Our Staff

Currently the VMIAC is staffed by:

Director
  Isabell Collins has been the Director of the VMIAC since 1995. She came from the Office of the Public Advocate. From her background in General Nursing, Isabell has brought a profound knowledge of health services to the organisation.
Advocate
  Liz Carr is now back at the VMIAC after an abscence working in the Community Development sector. Liz has wide experience in advocacy and the Mental Health System.
Advocate
  Tony Salter joins the advocacy team and brings with him a broad knowledge of the clinical and PDRSS sectors.
Information Officer
  Bill Moon has the job of Information Officer at the VMIAC. Bill has experience as a consumer consultant, and brings a wealth of knowledge about the mental health system to the position.
Office Manager
  Marcia Hilton is our Office Manager and Administrative Assistant. Her office and administrative experience is an invaluable asset to the VMIAC.
Education Officer
  Currently, there is no Education Officer position.
Project Manager
  Lei Ning is the Deputy Director of the VMIAC and Project Manager for the new Consumer Reasearch and Evaluation Unit at the VMIAC. In conjunction with the Carers Network, the unit undertook a project for the Department of Human Services. The project is a pilot Consumer and Carer Experiences of Care Survey. Lei has a Masters in Art Therapy and has wide experience of the Mental Health system as a Senior Consumer Consultant.
Project Officers
  There is currently one Project Officer working in the Consumer Reasearch and Evaluation Unit. Wayne Weavell has wide experience in the Mental Health System.
VMIAC Mascot
mascot No staff listing would be complete without mention of our always loyal and cheerful mascot Timmy.
 
The VMIAC also has several people who volunteer their services on a regular basis to undertake the development of the newsletter, clean the office and perform some general maintenance of the property. The staff at the VMIAC thank all those that volunteer their services to the organisation. Articles or information for inclusion in the Newsletter can be sent to the Information Officer at the VMIAC.
Some of the VMIAC staff and its members sit on various committees at a local and statewide level to ensure consumer views are represented. Currently the VMIAC is represented on some 36 committees across the state and 2 national committees.
